			<description><![CDATA[ <p>I&#39;ve never needed a math curriculum for a 4 year old before...I just made stuff up, played games and taught them through everyday stuff.  But ds4.5 is
getting somewhat neglected in the learning arena since I am ramping up homeschooling his brothers.  He needs seat work to do anyhow while his brothers are
learning so it might as well be meaningful work.

			<description><![CDATA[ I just found out that our school has a dedicated math teacher starting in 2nd grade, which would be next year for us.

Apparently when they put Everyday Math in, performance went down and the answer was to hire another teacher. Not to get rid of EM of course.

I just think this is absolutely crazy. All elementary school teachers should be able to teach all of the subjects. It&#39;s elementary school for crying out
loud.

			<description><![CDATA[ My 8th grader did Algebra 1 last year in 7th grade, she was in the advanced math group and got straight As all year. We relocate to California and she is
placed again in Algebra 1. Of course, they call it Algebra 1/2, so I assumed it would cover some Algebra 2. I did not question the placement... big mistake!
Forward to second week of school and my daughter is complaining math is too easy, she is not learning anything new. So I ask her to look at her math book and
she says she covered... ]]></description>

the teacher videos to get a feel for how it&#39;s used. The teachers spoke about using the game to build an informal understanding of algebra and then giving a
formal lesson on it. Then let the kids go back and play the puzzle again to see how the formal relates to the informal knowledge they gained. You can look at
