Although I know one homeschooling family who is abusing this freedom. Their children are basically maxing out their education around 5th grade (which is where
the mother can teach up to) and left on their own. They will be essentially unemployable when they grow up.

Charlotte Mason style of education, so of course I am fond of it. It&#39;s goal is for the child to see no difference between home and learning. That is a goal

I am looking at how much time we will need/have for other activities next year if we homeschool.  For example WTM suggests something like an hour a day for
math.  I think our PS spends an hour a day for math by 2nd grade.  I can see ds8 taking an hour a day for math just because he&#39;s unfocussed and it&#39;s
like pulling teeth to get his homework done so with him it... ]]></description>

imagine H sitting for 5 hours a day or writing a page essay lol. Some of his personal family rules would cause a rebellion around here -no tv and no computer
