			<description><![CDATA[ <a target="_blank" href="http://www.mfwbooks.com/">My Father&#39;s World</a> is a curriculum that tries to unify Charlotte Mason, Classical, Unit Study, and Bible Study.  It
is quite ambitious and interesting.  It provides day by day teaching plans, utilizing living books and classical books and unit studies.

			<title><![CDATA[ Why do you afterschool? ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>Because my oldest loved math and cried in 1st grade when he entered public school.  Also because while I think most teacher do a great job.  I do not
beleive that a teacher can teach 26 children to read and that parents need to do it. (current ratio in our ps is 26-1 and that number will grow with budget
cuts).  There are a lot of benefits in our public school, but the ratio hurt learning.

			<description><![CDATA[ A HSing board I belong to has had a discussion about taking &#39;breaks&#39; during government school vacations.  I realized that I am in the minority,
probably because I was first an afterschooler?

When we afterschool, the breaks are the times when we can really work with our child (as opposed to simply submitting our child to demands of  government
agents).  However, the outcome is that the child is &#39;working&#39; all the time -- if not for the government, then for us.

			<description><![CDATA[ Thanks a bunch, Ike. We are in Houston, and the hurricane has taken its toll. I am not complaining - just venting. I am very thankful that our house is in one
piece and our only remaining Ike-issue is the lack of electricity. Today is our 12th day without power. My girls&#39; schools are both still dark. We
haven&#39;t read a book in two weeks (let alone undertaken any other supplementing). If I could just channel Little House on the Prairie, we would be joyfully

			<description><![CDATA[ I grew up in the television generation. Raised largely by a single working mom, my sister and I ate on t.v. trays in front of the Brady Bunch, Happy Days and
(my all time favorite) Little House on the Prairie. Though my mom worked, she was a lifelong educator, and my dad was a voracious reader and academic, so,
